Outstanding Achievement Award For Imagesetter Sales In Latin
America

noted.
SAO PAULO, BRAZIL -- July 31,
2006 – From the early 80’s until the mid-90’s imagesetters were the
backbone of most prepress departments. With the advent and growing
acceptance of CTP platesetters, demand for imagesetters has been in
decline in many markets… or so we thought. Today, ECRM announced
they have recognized Apolo Sistemas Graficos of Sao Paulo, Brazil
with an outstanding achievement award for imagesetter sales in Latin
America. The 18-person graphic arts distributor has achieved an
astounding 120% increase in imagesetter sales in the Brazilian
market over the last two years. The award will be presented to Apolo
CEO Michel Guttman Serwaczak by Doug Barr, ECRM’s Director of Sales,
Latin America, at a ceremony on August 30th in Sao Paulo.
Apolo Quote
“We’re honored that ECRM has chosen Apolo
for this award,” noted Mr. Serwaczak. “This is a testament to the
hard work and dedication of our entire sales and support staff. We
have been selling ECRM imagesetters for five years, but over the
last three we’ve seen a resurgence in demand. Recently, the
Brazilian graphic arts market has benefited from three critical
influences: an improving economy, an advantageous exchange rate, and
a growing need to replace aging production equipment. For
small-to-midsized commercial printers and service bureaus, ECRM
imagesetters have become the de facto standard. In our market, film
is still the dominant media, especially for smaller service
providers. ECRM has always embraced our efforts with quality
solutions and never-wavering support. This award is also a
reflection of their professionalism.”
ECRM
Quotes
“Imagesetters still represent a profit-generating
production tool to many trade house and quick printers, especially
today because of an imagesetter’s ability to image both film and
plate materials, noted Doug Barr, Director of Sales, Latin America,
ECRM. “Apolo has long been leader in the Brazilian marketplace and
their hard work has built its well-deserved reputation and financial
successes. We’re proud to partner with them.”
“While the
majority of attention now focuses on “direct-to” technologies like
CTP, there is still a flourishing demand for imagesetters,” noted
ECRM Vice President Mark Givens. “ECRM has maintained growing or
consistent imagesetter sales in every region of the world. What’s
really interesting to me is that in addition to Apolo’s achievement,
the US market still represents 50% of our total new imagesetter
sales. The success Apolo has realized in the Brazilian market,
though exceptional, is in keeping with the demand for solutions
appropriate to each market segment. ECRM imagesetters continue to
offer commercial printers extraordinary production proficiency and
value.”
